One month on: Waratah's Wednesday Lotto winner remains a mystery

While everyone usually loves a good mystery, after a month of waiting, NSW Lotteries is more eager than ever to find the Waratah winner of Wednesday Lotto’s $666,666.67 division one prize.

Since the winning ticket was unregistered, NSW Lotteries can only wait and wonder when the winner from Wednesday Lotto draw 3661 on 17 May 2017 will check their ticket and discover the dream-come-true news.

The Waratah winner was one of six division one winners from that draw, and is the only one yet to claim their prize.

The winning ticket was purchased from Waratah LPO & Newsagency, Shop 9 in the Waratah Shopping Village on Turton Road.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Matt Hart said he remained hopeful that Waratah’s winner would check their ticket and make contact soon to claim their prize.

“$666,000 is a lot of money to remain unclaimed – we can’t wait to find the mystery Waratah winner!” he exclaimed.

“I’m sure the winner would love to get their hands on their division one prize, so we’re urging all Monday & Wednesday Lotto players in Newcastle to check their tickets.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, please phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can help you claim your prize!”

NSW Lotteries reminds players of the importance of registering their tickets to a Players Club Card so all of their prizes are secure and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.

Waratah LPO & Newsagency owner Michael Phillips said there had been a lot of talk about who the mystery winner could be.

“Everyone’s eager to find out who has won,” he said.

“We’ve had a lot of people come in and check their tickets, but the winner remains a mystery.”

Across Australia, the Waratah winning entry was one of six entries that won a first division prize of $666,666.67 in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3661.

The six winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3661 on Wednesday 17 May 2017 were 30, 5, 25, 11, 27 and 18. The supplementary numbers were 21 and 19.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 386 so far this financial year, including 108 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
