Young Atherton mum a step closer to buying first home after $25,000 Instant Scratch-Its win!

A young mum from the Atherton region is a step closer to buying her first home after scratching the top prize of $25,000 on a $2 Instant Scratch-Its game.

The overjoyed woman told a Golden Casket official she received several Instant Scratch-Its tickets as a Mother’s Day gift, but initially didn’t think she had won anything.

“I scratched this one ticket but didn’t think I’d won so started scratching another ticket I’d received. But then I looked back and checked it again and saw I had won $25,000!” she explained.

“I couldn’t believe it! $25,000! I was more than happy with that!

“It pays to double check your tickets!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the windfall was sitting in the bank and would help her buy her first home.

“With this win I’m closer to having the deposit for my first home. It’s just great!”

The top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Tolga Newsagency, 62B Main Street, Tolga.

Tolga Newsagency owner Daniel Schuldt said the outlet was celebrating selling its first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

“We’ve sold a few division one winning Gold Lotto tickets and lots of winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets over the years, but this is the first time we’ve sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its,” he explained.

“There’s been a few Instant Scratch-Its wins land in Far North Queensland so far this year so hopefully many more wins to come for our customers!”
