Hills Shire Pensioner hangs up on $100,000 Lucky Lotteries prize!

Some things are just too good to be true, and after two weeks a Hills Shire pensioner finally accepted his good fortune - he really did win $100,000!

The man won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10127 drawn on Tuesday 24 January, but refused to believe it was true.

After receiving a phone call from NSW Lotteries following the draw two weeks ago, the man abruptly hung up because he was suspicious it could be a scam.

The happy man said he checked his online account with thelott.com this morning and discovered a nice surprise – an account top up of $100,000.

“I checked my online account about 10 minutes ago and found a nice surprise there!” the man chuckled.

“Actually I was a bit suspicious before because you hear of a lot of scams these days so basically you can never be too careful.

“Now that I’ve seen it for myself I know it’s the real deal.

“Anyway I hope I hear your voice again very soon! I won’t be as sceptical next time!” he laughed.

The man said the windfall would be life-changing for him.

“For a pensioner it will make all the difference in the world! I’ll be able to pay all my bills. I haven’t done my maths yet but first things first I’ll get rid of any debt and then see,” he explained.

“I’ve been playing it for 40 years believe it or not! I saw the jackpot was climbing over $5 million so I bought a few numbers in the draw, and it’s nice to get a win like this even if it’s not the jackpot!”

The 1st Prize winning entry, worth $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10127 on Tuesday 24 January, was purchased online via thelott.com – Australia’s official online lotteries.

The man purchased three numbers in the draw for $2.20 each and thanks to choosing them in sequential order he also picked up two consolation prizes of $1,000 for the numbers on either side of the 1st Prize winning number drawn – a total windfall of $102,000.

The Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot continues to climb with draw 10131 now sitting at more than $5.57 million.

NSW Lotteries customers can purchase a single ticket number into the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot for $2.20 and the Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot for $5.50.
