"Shaking" Gold Coast mother books hair appointment after $1 million lotto win

A young Gold Coast mother plans to ditch the shop-bought hair dye and book an appointment at a hair salon after winning a division one prize worth $1 million in last night’s Monday Gold Lotto draw.

Thanks to her System 10 entry, the winner won a division one prize of $1 million in Monday Gold Lotto draw 3638 as well as additional divisional prizes totalling $1,040,294.70.

The win also confirms the Gold Coast’s reputation as a hotspot for lotto winners.

Speaking to Golden Casket officials this morning, the woman admitted she was still shaking after discovering the win.

“Thank you so much! I don’t believe it! I’m still shaking now!” the woman said, sniffing back tears.

“Yesterday I went to buy some product to home colour my hair as I can’t afford to go to the hairdressers.

“My husband did my hair for me last night and I said to him if we won I would go to the hairdresser rather than getting him to do it at home.

“So now I can go to a hairdresser!”

Apart from regular salon visits, the woman said she would also use her windfall to buy her first home and help her family.

She said she would also like to take her children to the Australian snowfields so they could see snow for the first time.

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought her System 10 winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official online lotteries.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3638 on Monday 27 February 2017 were 25, 42, 19, 26, 14 and 43, with the supplementary numbers 36 and 22.

Across Australia, it was the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3638, which offers a guaranteed $1 million division one prize for up to four winners in every draw.

The Lott’s division one winning entry tally has now reached 371 so far this financial year, including 66 won by Golden Casket customers.
