New iPhone for Southern Highlands man after $10,000 Instant Scratch-Its win

A young Southern Highlands man is looking forward to splurging on a new iPhone after winning one of the two top prizes of $10,000 on a $1.10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The overjoyed man explained that he bought the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket from Cameron’s Newsagency in Bowral, but had carried it around in his pocket for more than a week before he finally got around to scratching it.

“I had a bit of spare time after a busy week so I pulled the ticket out of the pocket of my work pants and started scratching,” he said.

“I saw $10,000 three times and I thought ‘No, this is a joke! It can’t be real!’.

“I almost started to panic! I couldn’t believe it!

“I’ve been a regular player for years but have only ever won $2 and $3. This is the biggest prize I’ve ever won.”

The young winner plans to use some of his windfall to upgrade to a new iPhone, while saving the rest for his future.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the top prize winning $1.10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket at Cameron’s Newsagency, 315 Bong Bong Street, Bowral.

Cameron’s Newsagency owner Pauline Hastings said the store was thrilled one of its customers had won a top prize.

“Congratulations to the winner! We hope he enjoys his winnings!” she said.

“Instant Scratch-Its are popular with our customers, who are a mix of locals and tourists. It’s great that a local has won as I understand he’s been a regular player for many years.”

The latest range of Instant Scratch-Its tickets are available now at NSW Lotteries outlets. It can happen it an instant. It could happen to you.
