Coburg North colleagues win $1.4 million in TattsLotto!

A Coburg North workplace syndicate just received an unexpected bonus – a $1.4 million division one windfall in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw! T

he boss at the winning workplace spoke to Tatts today and explained the division one prize would be split 25 ways – making for individual prizes of more than $57,000!

The group began to cry with tears of joy when they suspected their ticket had won division one.

“Yes I’m sitting down! IT’S DIVISION ONE! Oh fantastic!” the boss exclaimed.

“The ticket actually belongs to my work syndicate that has 25 shares, so there’s going to be some pretty happy people when I return to confirm the good news.

“This will make everyone’s day! We’re battlers out here in North Coburg so this win will make a big difference to us all.

“It would take a long time to save up that kind of money, so it’s going to make a lot of people very happy!

“I’ll probably have to put the rest of the day on hold!”

The happy boss said the syndicate had been running ‘week in, week out’ for 30 years.

“There’s a big mix of people in the group. We’re all hard-working, loyal staff who work in the local area and range between their 20s and 70s. Some of us have clocked up more than 30 years at the business!” he explained.

“In fact, this syndicate has won TattsLotto before in the ‘90s – I think they got a little over $25,000 each.

“So our workplace has been quite lucky, we buy a few tickets but the numbers we pick have never changed!”

He admitted he was glad the prize would be shared among so many staff members.

“Lucky for me as the boss, I don’t think it’s quite enough for anyone to resign!” he laughed.

“They won’t want to leave the business now anyway because they won’t want to miss out on our lucky workplace syndicate!

“It’s a great prize share that will help out with everyone’s mortgages, sorting out bills and car loans!”

The winning workplace syndicate, which wishes to remain anonymous, purchased their System 10 marked entry from Capital Chemist Coburg North, 11- 15 Orvieto Street in Merlynston.

Jarrod McMaugh is the owner of Capital Chemist Coburg North and was ecstatic for another local business to be sharing in the prize.

“It’s a win-win for us! Sold from Coburg and won in Coburg by local, regular customers!” Mr McMaugh exclaimed.

“We’re over-the-moon for the winning syndicate and think it’s great to see it shared between so many deserving people.

“The average Joe Blow couldn’t save that much money no matter how hard-working they are, so it really will make a huge difference.

“We’ve been less than one year under the Capital Chemist ownership so it’s extra special for our business.

“We hope we can do it again in the upcoming $20 million Superdraw this weekend!”

Throughout Australia, there were three entries that won the first division prize of $1,410,206.21 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw on Saturday 11 February 2017.
