Warren man feels like 'one million bucks' after winning Lotto Megadraw!

A man from the town of Warren says he feels like ‘one million bucks’ after kicking off 2017 with a division one windfall worth more than $1.3 million in Lotto’s New Year’s Eve Megadraw.

The joyful man was thrilled to have had his numbers come up on his 50-game QuickPick ticket which he purchased from Grindrod’s Newsagency in Warren.

“Terrific! That’s wonderful!” the man exclaimed.

“I was lying in bed on Sunday morning when my daughter, who had a copy of my ticket, rang me up and said ‘Dad, I think you’ve won something in the Lotto!’

“Sure enough, the email message I get from NSW Lotteries that normally says you’ve won about $14 or $15, had something different this time – this one just said you’ve won a significant amount!

“When I checked my ticket and discovered I’d won $1.3 million, I was very, very happy! I was absolutely wrapt!

“Firstly we’ll look at getting a new home. My wife wants to go on a cruise so we’ll do that but the majority of the money we’re going to just look after it. We’ll have a little bit of a spree but we’re not going to go crazy with it.”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 50-QuickPick entry from Grindrod’s Newsagency, 126 Dubbo Street in Warren.

Yvonne Grindrod is the owner of Grindrod’s Newsagency and was celebrating the exciting New Year’s Day news with all her customers.

“We haven’t sold a division one winning entry in quite a while so this this is great news!” exclaimed Ms Grindrod.

“We’re excited to have sold the winning entry and we’re thrilled to have played a part in changing the year for one of our customers – a big congratulations to them!

“We’re only a small town, so this win will give everyone in town a big lift.”
