Woman from Cessnock thanks her pooch for $1 million Wednesday Lotto windfall!

A woman from Cessnock in the Hunter region of New South Wales has her beloved pooch to thank for her Wednesday Lotto windfall – winning division one and a divisional prize totalling $1,000,027.70!

The winning woman was overwhelmed and cried tears of joy when she received confirmation from NSW Lotteries today that the unregistered 50-game QuickPick entry she had purchased from Cessnock Newsagency had resulted in her becoming a millionaire!

“Thank you - oh my – thank you very much! I’m so happy!” the winning woman cried through tears of happiness.

“This is just terrific! I’m just so overwhelmed. You know, I went out to buy my pooch some more dog food and while I was out I decided I should get a lotto ticket.

“Then I was at home on Wednesday night and thought I should check the ticket but it was late and I was tired so I didn’t worry about it.

“So while I was out running some errands yesterday I thought I’d check the ticket and now it’s just unbelievable – I’m a millionaire,” she cried.

When asked by NSW Lotteries what her new millionaire status would mean the woman declared that Cessnock was a lucky place for her.

“I haven’t long moved from Sydney to Cessnock and since I’ve been here I’ve had such good luck!” she declared.

“I’m so happy that now I’ll be able to help my family, I’ll buy a house and take my dream holiday – a trip to Las Vegas!

“But I am going to have to buy my beloved dog a treat – I’ll be getting her a diamante dog collar! If it weren’t for her I may not have bought the ticket.”

The winning woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 50-game QuickPick entry from Cessnock Newsagency, 73 – 75 Allandale Road in Cessnock.
