Murray Bridge man makes $1 million overnight!

It didn’t take long for a Murray Bridge man to answer SA Lotteries’ call out to check any Monday & Wednesday X Lotto tickets from last night’s draw and discover he was the millionaire SA Lotteries was searching for.

After his wife heard on the radio that there was a mystery millionaire in the Murraylands she suggested that he better check his Monday X Lotto ticket as soon as possible.

“It’s actually true? Oh Christ, thank you very much!” he exclaimed.

“It hasn’t just turned around my week - it’s turned around my month! Being a millionaire certainly does have a ring to it.

“I had absolutely no idea it was me! My wife heard there was a winning ticket in Murray Bridge and said that I should go and check my ticket! I haven’t told her yet but she’ll be the first to know and I bet she won’t believe me!”

The winning man had a few ideas on what to do with his new found fortune. “The house is gone! The house is paid off! And I’ll be getting my dream car finally! I’ll leave it up to my wife to decide where we’ll be off to on holidays!” he exclaimed.

“All I ever play is a QuickPick – walk in buy a ticket, come in the next day check it and buy the one for the next night – it’s my walk on my lunch break. “I’m not going to lose this ticket now! I’ve got to try and get back to work now without falling down.”

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The unregistered 25-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Murray Bridge Newsagency & Toyworld, 29 Bridge Street in Murray Bridge.

Adrian Pergallini is the owner of Murray Bridge Newsagency & Toyworld and was over-the-moon to have made a local customer a millionaire.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have sold a division one winning entry to one of our customers who can now call themselves a millionaire!” he exclaimed.

“It’s nice to see it’s gone to a local! It’s a life-changing experience and I wish the best with their new found fortune.

“We’re all celebrating here at the newsagency - I’m hanging up the balloons as we speak!”

It’s the second division one winning entry Murray Bridge Newsagency & Toyworld has sold following a $1.3 million Monday & Wednesday X Lotto prize in 2010.

Throughout Australia, it was the only entry that won a first division prize in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 3588, which offers a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million for up to four winners in each draw.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 3588 on Monday 85 September 2016 were 24, 27, 45, 14, 12 and 25. The supplementary numbers were 40 and 43.

Last night’s winner takes the Lott’s division one winners tally up to 76 so far this financial year, including 6 in SA Lotteries.
