Out-of-the-blue X Lotto win for Salisbury East couple!

A married couple from Adelaide’s northern suburb of Salisbury East were thrilled to discover their Saturday X Lotto entry in the weekend’s draw had scored a division one prize worth $200,493.60.

The winning wife was none-the-wiser to her good fortune when SA Lotteries contacted her this morning to tell her the exciting dream-come-true news.

“Well, that’s the one ticket I haven’t checked yet! Generally I scan the barcode on the Lott app on Sunday morning but not this time,” she explained while retrieving the ticket from the glove box of her car.

“You’re kidding me! We won division one! That’s incredible!” she exclaimed on hearing the news.

“My husband and I have been playing X Lotto together since we’ve been married so over the last 30 or so years and I’ve never had a win this big! We certainly never expected to win division one!

“A couple years back we won about $600 and I bought a new telly! But this has really tipped the scales - it’ll make such a difference in our lives!

“Hopefully we can reduce our working hours and take an earlier mark towards our retirement which we’ve been madly saving for. It just means life will be a lot easier for us.

“It’s so lovely to get a phone call out-of-the-blue with wonderful news like this! It just goes to show that it’s worth answering those private numbers because you never know what someone is calling you about!”

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their 10-game marked entry from Manor Farm Newsagency, Shop 16 in the Manor Farm Shopping Centre on Northbri Avenue in Salisbury East.

Lee-Ann and Joe Mandica are the owners of Manor Farm Newsagency and are thrilled to have sold a division one winning ticket to local customers.

“We are absolutely rapt! In fact I was so excited when I realised that we sold a division one winning ticket that I gave myself a headache!” Mrs Mandica laughed.

“When the news popped up on our lottery terminal I yelled out ‘Joe, we’ve sold division one! We’ve sold division one!’

“It’s been eight years since we last sold a division one winning entry. It was in November 2008 in a $21 million Superdraw so we were definitely due for another win!

“We have our fingers crossed that we won’t be waiting long for our next division one winning customer!”

Throughout Australia, there were 21 entries that won a first division prize of $200,493.60 in the weekend’s X Lotto draw on Saturday 10 September. Along with the winning entry from South Australia, there were nine division one winning entries purchased in Victoria, six in Queensland, two each in New South Wales and Western Australia and one in Tasmania.

The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3667 on Saturday 10 September 2016 were 27, 18, 9, 13, 5 and 7, with the supplementary numbers 25 and 42.

The weekend’s winner takes the Lott’s division one winners tally up to 182 so far this financial year, including 7 first division winning entries won by SA Lotteries customers.
