Young Woodside woman becomes a millionaire!

A woman in her 20s from Woodside in the Adelaide Hills is set to make her million dollar dreams come true after winning a division one share worth $1,333,333.34 in X Lotto’s $20 Million Superdraw.

The young woman, who is still getting used to referring to herself as a millionaire, admitted she was only just settling down after she made the exciting discovery on Sunday morning that she was holding a division one winning ticket.

“I’m just so excited! It’s just unreal! I still can’t believe it, I think I’m dreaming. I was shaking so badly, I think I only just stopped!” she exclaimed.

“It was actually the second ever X Lotto ticket I’ve ever bought – the X Lotto’s $20 million Superdraw was drawn near my birthday so I felt like I should get an entry since it had to be a lucky sign.

“No-one’s going to top $1.3 million as a birthday gift,” she laughed.

The winner said she was shocked at her ‘beginners’ birthday luck’.

“I was out to dinner and drinks with family and friends on Saturday night so it was early the next morning when I decided to check my ticket,” she explained.

“I was looking at my results online, being old-school I was circling all the numbers on my ticket when the penny dropped that I’d won – I had circled all six numbers.

“It was quite funny, I was calling all my family members saying ‘I don’t know what just happened!’ and got everyone to check it and triple check my ticket!

“Mum cried when I told her – she was just so happy for me and couldn’t believe me, she was actually convinced I was tricking her!”

When asked what she dreamed of doing with her million-dollar-windfall, the woman had a couple of ideas in mind.

“I think I’m definitely going to buy a house, that’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but it’s got to be the right one… and now I’ll have so much more choice. It’s crazy!” she exclaimed.

“I’ve always joked that when I get rich, I want to go to Bora Bora – it just looks amazing staying in those beautiful bungalows over the water with the glass windows on the floor.”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 25-game QuickPick entry from Woodside Newsagency, 40 Main Street in Woodside.

Wendy Kerber is the co-owner of Woodside Newsagency and said it was a memorable win for the store.

“We’re pretty excited! We’ve been telling our customers that we’ve been working on pulling out a division one win and now we’ve done it!” Mrs Kerber exclaimed.

“It’s our first division one win at this store – our first store – which we’ve owned for 10 and a half years, so it’s pretty special to us.

“Our second store, Balhannah Newsagency, had a recent X Lotto division one win too in November 2015.

“So we won’t waste any time getting started on crossing our fingers for our next division one winning customer!”

Throughout Australia, there were 15 entries that won a first division prize of $1,333,333.34 in the weekend’s X Lotto $20 Million Superdraw. Along with the winning entry from South Australia, five were purchased in New South Wales, and three each were purchased in Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in X Lotto draw 3655 on Saturday 30 July 2016 were 45, 37, 40, 33, 27 and 32, with the supplementary numbers 22 and 38.
