WOO HOO TattsLotto win for Humpty Doo!

A man from the Northern Territory’s small town of Humpty Doo now has more than half a million dollars to his name, after his TattsLotto entry won a division one prize worth $579,350.82 on the weekend!

The happy man said he couldn’t believe his luck when he checked his ticket and realised he’d matched all six winning numbers on his TattsLotto ticket.

“I’m a long standing customer of Coolalinga Newsagency and I tend to win little prizes and put them back on and think ‘she’ll be right,’” he explained.

“When I checked my ticket I actually missed one number out, 25, but I already thought I’d matched five numbers so I was thrilled – then I realised ‘hang on, I’ve got the lot of them! WOO HOO!’”

The retired man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the windfall would mean a much more relaxed lifestyle ahead.

“I had a bit of a slow start this morning after celebrating with my family on Sunday afternoon and having a few beers together,” he laughed.

“When I told my kids they said ‘About time Dad! You’ve had a lifetime of hard work and you deserve to put your feet up!’

“So now I’ll finally be able to get out of the deep hole that is my mortgage which is great, and down the track I’ll take the kids for a bit of a holiday break to sunny Queensland.”

The winning 36-game QuickPick ticket was purchased from Coolalinga Newsagency, Shop 3, Lot 4771 Stuart Highway in Howard Springs.

Tanya Syphers is the owner of Coolalinga Newsagency and was over the moon at the news of a win for Darwin and the local Humpty Doo community.

“It’s such great news for Darwin and for our community to give us all that extra glimmer of hope that a local person can win it!” Ms Syphers exclaimed.

“In fact this will be our third division one win which we can put up on the wall!

“We are thrilled for our regular local customer and wish them all the best with their windfall!”

Throughout Australia, there were seven entries that each won a first division prize of $579,350.82 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. Along with the winning entry purchased in Howard Springs, there were two division one winning entries each purchased in New South Wales and Queensland, and one each in Victoria and the ACT.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3649 on Saturday 9 July 2016 were 25, 33, 17, 21, 38 and 13. The supplementary numbers were 18 and 11.
