Whittlesea woman waited for TattsLotto to call!

A woman from the north-eastern Melbourne town of Whittlesea was waiting by the phone this morning after realising her TattsLotto entry had won a division one prize worth $579,350.82 in the weekend’s draw!

The overjoyed woman said she hadn’t told another soul because she was waiting to get the phone call from Tatts first to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.

“I’ve been waiting for your phone call! I wouldn’t let myself believe it was really true until I heard from you,” she happily told a Tatts official this morning.

“But I still can’t believe it! I’m blown away! I never win anything – I keep entering to win tickets to Olivia Newton John but this is an even better prize!” she laughed.

“I self-scanned my tickets and got one ‘better luck next time’ but when I scanned my next ticket the message on the screen said ‘Congratulations! You’re a winner!’ and told me to go check at the counter.

“I told my husband to go grab a newspaper off the rack and screamed when he showed me the winning TattsLotto numbers ‘Oh my god, I got the whole bloody six!’

“He told me to ‘shhhhhh!’ because we were still out in public, but we were so excited! I couldn’t think straight!

“I’d say it’s a bit of good karma – I’ll be able to pay our house off and it will get us back on track for the future.

“Now I’ve got to keep my poker face on while I think about how I’m going to break the news to the rest of the family!”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 12-game QuickPick ticket from Whittlesea Lotto Cards & Gifts, Shop 45, Church Street in Whittlesea.

Neil Ritchie is the owner of Whittlesea Lotto Cards & Gifts and said he was thrilled to hear the news he’d sold a division one winning ticket to one of his local customers.

“It’s really good news! Another newsagent phoned to congratulate us yesterday so word gets around quite quickly here!” he exclaimed.

“This is our very first division one win since we took over management of the store five years ago! So it’s very exciting indeed!”

Throughout Australia, there were seven entries that each won a first division prize of $579,350.82 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. Along with the winning entry purchased in Whittlesea, there were two division one winning entries each purchased in New South Wales and Queensland, and one each in the Northern Territory and the ACT.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3649 on Saturday 9 July 2016 were 25, 33, 17, 21, 38 and 13. The supplementary numbers were 18 and 11.
