Gold Lotto rainbow delivers division one win to Camira!

A retired Camira couple have received an unexpected boost to their retirement fund after their entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw won a first division prize worth more than $579,000.

The winning wife said even though she was in the process of checking their winning entry after the draw, it was her husband who ended up breaking the dream-come-true news to her.

“Each Saturday night I watch the draw on TV and write down the winning numbers and then check our Gold Lotto entries,” the excited winning wife explained.

“But on Saturday night as I was circling the numbers on our tickets, my husband went and logged on to our online account to check if we’d won anything.

“I was still busy checking tickets when my husband called out to me to come and have a look at this. When I got there, I saw on the screen that we’d won! I couldn’t believe it!

“The best moment was actually the next day when we were able to break the amazing news that we’d won Gold Lotto to our children,” the winning wife said.

“It’s quite funny we’ve been playing our favourite numbers for nearly 30 years - they’re combinations of birthdays, ages and special numbers. But the numbers on our ticket that won first division where the few random ones we selected all those years ago because we’d run out of special numbers!” the winning husband added.

The winners, who have chosen to remain anonymous, said they plan to share their windfall with their family.

The division one winning 12-game marked ticket was purchased at Camira News, Shop 8, 320 Old Logan Road in Camira.

Barry Coulter is the owner of Camira News and was happy to be celebrating another division one win at his outlet.

“We sold our last division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto winning entry worth $1.4 million in June last year,” Mr Coulter said.

“So we had one first division one win last year but it would be nice to go one better in 2016 and celebrate two division one wins!

“We’d like to congratulate our latest division one winning customers and wish them all the best for the future.”

Throughout Australia, there were seven entries that won a first division prize of $579,350.82 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw. Along with the winning entry from the Camira, there was another division one winning entry in Queensland, two division one winning tickets were sold in New South Wales, and one each in the ACT, Victoria and the Northern Territory. The other Queensland division one winning entry was sold in the Townsville suburb of Deeragun.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3649 on Saturday 9 July 2016 were 25, 33, 17, 21, 38 and 13, with the supplementary numbers 18 and 11.
