Brisbane pensioner knocked for a sixer by $10,000 Instant Scratch-Its win!

A pensioner from Brisbane’s eastern suburbs admitted she’s still having trouble believing she’s $10,000 richer after scratching a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its $1 ticket.

“I’ve never had any money in all my life!” the winner exclaimed.

“I like to buy the odd scratchie and I’ve won $2 or $10 before and thought that was amazing but when I scratched $10,000 it knocked me for a sixer!

“I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was at home by myself at the time so I called my daughter and the first thing she asked me was if everything was alright.

“I said to her that I wasn’t sure and explained I scratched this ticket and checked it so many times but I still think I’ve won!

“She ended up coming around to my home on her lunch break to check my ticket. After she looked at it she said to me, ‘I think you’ve won Mum!’.

“I still can’t believe my $1 ticket won a $10,000 prize! This windfall is going to come in very handy.

“I’m a pensioner so it’ll go a long way but at the moment I’m enjoying having the money in the bank. It’s lovely having that security and knowing if I want to buy something, I can afford it.”

The top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its $1 ticket was purchased at News Extra Camp Hill, Shop 5 in Whites Hill Shopping Centre, 25 Samuel Street in Camp Hill.
