A $50,000 Keno ticket went on a week-long joy ride!

Tuesday 3 May 2016 - A man from the northern suburbs of Adelaide left a Keno Spot 8 ticket in the glove compartment of his car for over a week before checking it and realising that he had matched eight numbers winning him $50,000!

The overjoyed man, who wishes to remain anonymous, had not given his ticket a second thought after buying it and stashing it in his car. “I left my Keno Spot 8 ticket away in my car and then I didn’t think anything of it whatsoever!” he exclaimed.

“It was only when I next went to the shops that I decided to check my Keno ticket. When I scanned the ticket it told me to go to the counter but I never expected that meant I had won Spot 8!

“The lotto kiosk owner declared to me ‘I’ve been waiting for you all week’ with a big smile on her face and then told me I’d won the $50,000 prize! It was a big surprise!”

Christine and Ian Hardy are the owners of Springbank Plaza Lotto Kiosk and were both over-the-moon to have made their customer’s day.

“To see the look on his face when I told him he’d won $50,000 was something else! He just couldn’t believe it!” Ms Hardy exclaimed.

“He grabbed ahold of my hand and kept saying ‘thank you, thank you’, it was such a joyful thing to be a part of and one I’ll never forget.”

The winner purchased his unregistered ticket from Springbank Plaza Lotto Kiosk, Shop 16 in the Springbank Plaza Shopping Centre, on 384 Waterloo Corner Road in Burton.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 8 top prize, a player must match all eight of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
