'Fair dinkum!' Oz Lotto winner stunned by $2.5 million prize!

Thursday 7 April 2016 - A Sydney woman in her 50s admitted she was having trouble getting her head around the fact she could call herself a multi-millionaire after her entry in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw scored a division one prize.

The flabbergasted winner was stunned when she checked her 12-game Oz Lotto entry this afternoon and discovered she’d won a first division prize worth $2.5 million.

“This is indescribable!” the excited winner declared.

“I’ve had my Oz Lotto numbers for many years and I play them from time to time. The other day I was buying my regular lotto tickets and thought I’ll buy an Oz Lotto ticket as well.

“This afternoon I checked my Oz Lotto ticket in a newsagency and when I was told I’d won first division I screamed out, ‘Fair dinkum! I’ve got seven numbers!’.

“I had no idea! I’m just an ordinary person – how could I be this lucky? My husband and I will be going out to dinner tonight and we’ll be celebrating with some champagne!

“This win is going to change our lives – it’s so exciting! I think we might be doing a lot of travelling from now on.”

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The division one winning entry in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw was purchased at Quay Newsagency, Shop W8a in Alfred Street, Circular Quay in Sydney.

Throughout Australia, there were two entries that won a first division share of Oz Lotto’s $5 million jackpot draw on Tuesday 5 April, each worth $2.5 million. Along with the winning entry purchased in Sydney, the other winning ticket was sold in the Canberra suburb of Curtin.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1155 on Tuesday 5 April 2016 were 17, 37, 44, 15, 2, 3 and 28. The supplementary numbers were 18 and 4.

There’s another chance to win big this week with $6 million up for grabs in tonight’s Powerball draw. Tickets are available at any NSW Lotteries outlet or online via Tatts.com.
