Gunnedah's Set for Life 1st Prize winner still not answering!

Monday 18 April 2016 - Have you ever heard your phone ringing and wondered who could be phoning you?

If you purchased a Set for Life ticket in the New South Wales town of Gunnedah, it could be Set for Life officials calling you to tell you that you’ve won 1st Prize!

For four days officials have been attempting to get in contact with last Thursday’s Set for Life winner to break the life-enhancing news that they’ll be receiving $20,000 this month, next month and every month for 20 years!

The Set for Life winner who won 1st Prize in draw 252 on Thursday 14 April is proving to be quite elusive and has yet to answer their telephone and hear the words, ‘Congratulations you are Set for Life!’.

Set for Life spokesperson Belinda McDougall said just imagine what this winner could have done to celebrate on the weekend if they’d picked up on phone on Friday and discovered they’ll be receiving $20,000 this month, next month and every month for the next 20 years.

“The Set for Life 1st Prize winner has registered their entry to a NSW Lotteries Players Club card so there is no mystery about their identity, but now the question everyone wants to know is why they haven’t answered their phone,” Ms McDougall said.

“We know Set for Life players lead busy lives so there is a chance the winner is working hard, taking a much-needed holiday or maybe they simply haven’t heard their phone ringing!

“Whatever the case may be, when the winner answers their phone they’ll discover they have 20 years of possibilities ahead of them to perhaps pursue a new hobby, travel the world, or have more freedom to do whatever they want to do!

“Since the launch of Set for Life in August 2015, there have been eight 1st Prize winners – three each in New South Wales and Victoria, and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.

“The seven other Set for Life 1st Prize winners are enjoying receiving $20,000 each and every month! One Set for Life winner recently told us since winning they’ve been able to treat themselves to things they never thought possible like going out to a nice dinner at a restaurant.

“Another Set for Life 1st Prize winner has gone on an overseas holiday and is planning another holiday this year, and each of the seven 1st Prize winners have said they’ve been able to share their windfall with family, friends and charities.

“We’re now waiting to hear how winning Set for Life will change the latest 1st Prize winner’s life so we’re urging any Set for Life players who purchased an entry in Gunnedah to check it today or at least answer their phone next time it rings!”

The 1st Prize winning Set for Life entry was purchased at Gunnedah Newsagency, 260 Conadilly Street in Gunnedah.

This is the third Set for Life 1st Prize win in New South Wales, and nationally the winner will join seven other Australians who are already enjoying their monthly instalments of the twenty year Set for Life windfall.

Since the Set for Life launched in August 2015, there have been eight 1st Prize winners – three each in New South Wales and Victoria, and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.

Across the country, it was the only entry that won 1st Prize in last Thursday’s Set for Life draw 252 on 14 April, which offers a guaranteed 1st Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 year for up to four winners in each draw.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 252 on Thursday 14 April 2016 were 36, 24, 22, 2, 31, 11, 16 and 17, with the bonus numbers 20 and 32.

Set for Life is unlike any lottery game that has ever been offered in Australia’s lottery history. The Set for Life 1st Prize will be paid to winners in monthly instalments of $20,000 for 20 years.

A Set for Life draw is conducted every night of the week, 365 days each year, and players can start their seven-day Set for Life entry on any day of the week.

To win the 1st Prize in Set for Life, players must correctly choose the 8 winning numbers drawn from 37. Additional smaller divisional prizes can be won from 2nd Prize to 8th Prize by selecting a combination of the 8 winning numbers and 2 bonus numbers drawn.

Tickets for Set for Life are now on sale in lottery outlets around the country and online at Tatts.com with the next draw occurring tonight.
