It can happen in an instant on the Sunshine Coast!

Tuesday 8 March 2016 - Internet issues meant a Currimundi woman experienced a ‘dial-up speed’ lag in discovering her Instant Scratch-Its $4 ticket had won a $50,000 top prize!

The winner explained she bought a few Instant Scratch-Its tickets but when she got home she had some internet problems to deal with.

“When I got home I was busy on the telephone for some time trying to sort out my internet issues and I forgot all about my tickets,” the ecstatic winner explained.

“The next evening I was just about to go to bed when I remembered that I’d bought some Instant Scratch-Its tickets so I got them out and started scratching them just before midnight!

“Well, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw I’d won the top prize! I checked it a few times before I sent each of my daughters a text message to say that I thought I’d just won $50,000! I got two very groggy messages back from them to say that it was wonderful news.

“I was so excitied I couldn’t go to sleep after that! I tossed and turned for a while before I just gave up and read a book all night with my $50,000 winning ticket tucked under the pillow next to me!

“In the morning I went next door to my neighbours and asked them to double check that I had really won the top prize!

“This prize money is going to go such a long way! I’ve got a huge list of things that I need to do around the house so they’ll all get done now and I’ll have a lovely amount left over – perhaps I’ll even treat myself!”

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous.

The winning ticket was purchased at Parklands News, Shop 4 in Ridgehaven Marketplace, 238 Parklands Boulevard in Meridan Plains.
