Million tears of happiness for Murwillumbah millionaires!

Tuesday 22 March 2016 - The mystery of who won a $1.1 million division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $21 Million Superdraw with an unregistered ticket purchased in Murwillumbah has been solved after a local couple checked their winning entry this afternoon.

The retirees, who wish to remain anonymous, were overwhelmed when they discovered they were new millionaires.

“TRULY! Thankfully I’m sitting down at the moment. I can’t believe that I’ve won – little old me!” the winning wife exclaimed.

“I’m usually the person who races down to the newsagency to get a last-minute entry but my husband said to me the other day that we should buy a ticket early in the week for a change – and it won!

“I feel so humble - I think we’ll go home now and I’ll firstly cry a million tears of happiness. We’ll have to buy a bottle of bubbly though so we can celebrate after that!

“I can’t think right now what we’ll do with our prize money but it is life-changing – not just for us but for a lot of people close to us!

“I can’t wait to tell our children that we’ve won Lotto. They’ll love me forever now!” the winner jokingly added.

The winning 24-game QuickPick ticket in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $21 Million Superdraw was purchased from Sunnyside Newsagency and Office City, Sunnyside Mall in Murwillumbah.
