Kilsyth mates claim division one TattsLotto prize!

Wednesday 24 February 2016 - Four days after the draw, a man from Kilsyth has come forward with the TattsLotto ticket that won a first division TattsLotto prize as well as other divisional prizes totalling $340,818.68 in the weekend’s draw.

The division one winning entry is shared by long-standing friends who take it in turns to place their System 9 TattsLotto entry on each week but this time one of them decided to try something a bit different.

“We usually buy System 9 QuickPick entries, but this time for whatever reason I decided to mark a coupon and pick nine numbers myself!” the man explained.

“It’s unbelievable that six of them turned out to be the winning numbers! It was just a completely random selection on a whim!

“It’s funny because I have my own special numbers that I play on my own which include sentimental things like the house number of my first address and my families birth dates – but not even one of those was in the lot of numbers that won!

“With my half of our TattsLotto prize, I plan to help out my kids. My daughter’s wedding is coming up so I’ll be able to pitch in for that celebration.

“I’ll also get another car because mine is getting on in years and I’ll look to invest the rest so that it’ll set me up into the future.”

The winners have chosen to remain anonymous.

The man purchased their unregistered System 9 marked entry from Kilsyth Authorised Newsagency, Shop 4-5 in the Kilsyth Shopping Centre, 520 – 528 Mt Dandenong Road, Kilsyth.

Geoff Denelzen is the owner of Kilysth Authorised Newsagency and said he was thrilled to have sold two division one winning entries in quick succession.

“We sold our last division one winning entry in August last year, so it’s exciting to sell another one so soon!” Mr Denelzen exclaimed.

“They say good things come in threes, so hopefully there’s another win just around the corner!

“We wish our winners all the best with their windfall!”

Throughout Australia, there were thirteen entries that won a first division prize of $320,223.98 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. Along with three division one winning tickets from Victoria, five winning entries were purchased in New South Wales, three in Western Australia, and two in Queensland. The other division one winning entries from Victoria were purchased in Wangaratta in north-east Victoria and Eaglehawk a town north-west of Bendigo.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto Lotto draw 3609 on Saturday 20 February 2016 were 30, 5, 17, 22, 42 and 26, with the supplementary numbers 19 and 36.
