Eaglehawk couple swoop in on division one TattsLotto prize!

Monday 22 February 2016 - A couple from Eaglehawk, a town north-west of Bendigo, said it was a truly life-changing moment when their entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw won a division one prize worth $320,223.98!

The happy couple, who wish to remain anonymous, were all giggles and laughs when a Tatts Official confirmed the dream-come-true news today.

“It’s extremely good! I still haven’t come down from cloud 9 and we’re still pinching each other!” the winning man exclaimed.

“You know, we actually have our pets to thank for leading us to buy the winning entry!

“We were picking up some cat and dog food at the shops and as we passed the newsagency my wife said, ‘Hang on, we haven’t got our TattsLotto entry in this week!’

“Needless to say the dog will be getting some extra bickies, and the cat can have an extra can of Fancy Feast!” he laughed.

The man said he couldn’t have been happier with the windfall which will clear their mortgage for good.

“We bought our house later in life, so we didn’t think we’d ever own it,” the winning man said.

“Being able to wipe off the mortgage will be a huge relief and make things much easier. I don’t even care what interest rates do now!” he laughed.

“I look forward to striding into the bank with a big smile on my face and telling them I have enough to pay off our loan once and for all!”

Along with paying off the mortgage, the winning man said he had a couple of other ideas up his sleeve to put the windfall towards.

“I’ll also buy myself a new spiffy ride-on mower for the yard which is a real luxury around here!” he said.

“I may even shout us a caravan to travel around the great outdoors!

“And it would be so nice to take a holiday – England has been on the top of my list for a while!”

The man said he had an ongoing cheeky rivalry with his wife to see who would bring in the most in TattsLotto prize money.

“I’m well in-front now! She’ll have to be pretty lucky to overtake me now! But the competition between us is never over, it will continue,” he confessed.

The couple purchased their division one winning 12-game QuickPick from Lansell Lotto & News at Shop 34, Lansell Square, 267 High Street in Kangaroo Flat.

Ken and Robyn Talbot are the owners of Lansell Lotto & News and said that it was wonderful to have sold a division one winning entry.

“It’s such lovely news for our division one winning customer and of course the local community too!” Mr Talbot exclaimed.

“We’re so excited for our winner and wish them every happiness with their windfall.”

Throughout Australia, there were thirteen entries that won a first division prize of $320,223.98 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw. Along with three division one winning tickets from Victoria, five winning entries were purchased in New South Wales, three each in Victoria and Western Australia, and two in Queensland. The other division one winning entries from Victoria were purchased in Wangaratta in north-east Victoria and Melbourne’s eastern suburb of Kilsyth.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto Lotto draw 3609 on Saturday 20 February 2016 were 30, 5, 17, 22 42 and 26, with the supplementary numbers 19 and 36.
