Regents Park man's Gold Lotto dream comes true!

• A special trip to the newsagent to buy the paper, some last-minute Christmas cards and to get some cash out to buy a bacon & egg McMuffin for brekkie has turned into a $757,000 windfall for one Regents Park man who won division one in the Christmas Eve Gold Lotto draw!

• The happy winning larrikin said he had a dream around 20 years ago that he would win the Lotto and has been waiting ever since for his numbers to come up.

• He’s never missed a draw and would regularly pass by the Golden Casket office in Woolloongabba and declare ‘I’ll walk in there one day when I win division one!’

• The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his division one winning 36-game QuickPick entry from NewsXpress Westpoint, Shop 11 in the Westpoint Shopping Centre in Browns Plains.

It was a dream-come-true for the man who admitted he’d be waiting for his numbers to come up for a long time after having a dream one night that he won Gold Lotto.

“About 20 years ago I actually dreamt that I’d win Gold Lotto so I’ve never missed a draw since!” he laughed.

“This time it was all for the sake of a bacon and egg McMuffin! I needed to get some Christmas cards, the paper and some cash out for breakfast and while I was at the newsagent I decided to make it a Jumbo entry that week!

“When I saw that I’d won division one – I yelled ‘Blow me dead! It was only a QuickPick!’

“I don’t know how many times I’ve passed by the Golden Casket office or had a steak at the Norman across the road and thought to myself one day I’ll walk in there with a division one winning ticket,” he smiled.

The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his division one winning 36-game QuickPick entry from NewsXpress Westpoint, Shop 11 in the Westpoint Shopping Centre in Browns Plains.

Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division prize of $757,320.06 in Gold Lotto draw 3697 on Saturday 24 December 2016.

Along with the division one winning entry purchased in Queensland, there were three sold in Victoria and one each purchased from South Australia and Western Australia.

The six winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3697 on Saturday 24 December which were 39, 24, 5, 9, 34 and 4. The supplementary numbers were 15 and 29.

The Lott’s division one winning entry tally has now reached 202 so far this financial year, including 46 won by Golden Casket customers.
