Lotto 'luck' strikes twice for Branxton woman!

A woman in her 30s from Branxton has struck it ‘lucky’ not once, but twice this year after claiming her second Lotto division one prize for the year!

Eleven days ago, the happy woman won a division one prize worth more than $673,000 in Saturday Lotto draw 3691 on Saturday 3 December.

Earlier in the year, in March, she won a share of more than $50,000 in a division one winning Monday Lotto syndicate.

The elated woman admitted there was no secret to her success declaring even she couldn’t believe her luck, winning for the second time with just a 12-game QuickPick.

“I checked my ticket at the newsagency and the guys there said ‘ah you better come have a chat to us!’” she explained.

“When he hold me exactly how much I won I gasped “OHHH!” well I did more than that! I literally screamed, shouted, shook and did all that sort of stuff!

“I was saying ‘Oh my god! Oh my god! OK! Yep! All that was from a QuickPick!’

“The staff were really excited for me too! They’d been notified that they’d sold a division one winning Saturday Lotto ticket and it was only a number of days later that I came in!

“But I’ve been really flat out so I haven’t had a chance to come in and claim the prize but it’s been playing on my mind this whole time!

“I knew what to do since in March this year I actually was lucky enough to win a share of more than $50,000 as part of a division one winning Monday Lotto syndicate! I purchased that syndicate share ticket from Branxton Newsagency as well!

“So it’s not for real – two in one year is unbelievable! Although I’ve been joking around saying well that’s two, but good things come in threes!”

The woman plans to invest the money as well as making her family’s dream of going to Disneyland come true.

“I’ve had a little while to think about it and I’ve decided I’m going to invest the prize money, since I just don’t want to go and blow it! It’s a really life-changing amount that I never thought I’d see in my life!” she exclaimed.

“I’ll also take the kids and go on a holiday, probably to Disneyland because it’s a dream for everyone to go there, and I’d also like to go on a cruise somewhere!”

The winning woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her division one winning entry from Branxton Newsagency, 43 Maitland Street in Branxton.

David Smith is the owner of Branxton Newsagency and was delighted to have helped deliver another division one winning prize.

“I’ve been here 30-something years but it’s always a great surprise to discover you’ve sold a major prize like this to one of your customers!” Mr Smith exclaimed.

“Then to find out that you sold them two in one year is pretty special!

“It’s lovely to see at this time of year and would be an amazing experience for anyone!

“We’re very happy for the winner and wish them all the best!”

Throughout Australia, there were six entries that won a first division prize of $673,151.01 in Saturday Lotto draw 3691 on Saturday 3 December 2016.

Along with the winning entry purchased in Branxton, another division one winning ticket was sold in Ashfield, and two each sold in Victoria and Western Australia.

The six winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3691 on Saturday 3 December 2016 were 18, 39, 11, 10, 26 and 44. The supplementary numbers were 16 and 15.

The Lott’s division one winning entry tally has reached 187 so far this financial year, including 57 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
