Umina's newly minted millionaire to spend more time on his golf swing!

A grandfather from the central coast town of Umina has declared he will retire and spend more time on his golf swing after winning a division one prize worth a cool $1 million in last night’s Monday Lotto draw.

The winning golfing fanatic revealed he was with members of his social golf club on his way to play a round of golf when he received the dream-come-true phone call from NSW Lotteries alerting him to his $1 million Lotto windfall.

“When I received your call there was so much excitement the bus nearly lifted off the road!” the winner announced.

“I’m not just a regular golfer, I’m a regular Lotto player as well. I’ve been playing the same numbers for at least 30 years and I didn’t ever think I would hear the words that I was a millionaire!

“I’ve already given my boss notice and I’ll be retiring by the end of the year so I will have more time to spend playing golf and enjoying life.

“My wife was over-the-moon when I told her the news! I’ll be doing something special to treat her but first we’ll have a family celebration and I’ll enjoy a few cheerful drinks.”

The excited grandfather, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 18-game marked entry from Bourke Road Store, 174 Bourke Road in Umina.

Michelle and Matt Overton are the owners of Bourke Road Store and said it was wonderful to be part of a customers’ division one Lotto dream.

“It’s fantastic to know we’ve been involved in changing someone’s life and helped deliver a division one dream!” Mrs Overton exclaimed.

“We’re thrilled to know the winner is one of our regular customers and we hope they enjoy their upcoming retirement.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold in a couple of years and now that we’ve got a taste for division one wins we hope this kicks off a tally of many more first division winners to come!”

Throughout Australia, there was one entry purchased in New South Wales that won first division in last night’s Monday Lotto draw, which offers a guaranteed $1 million division one prize for up to four winners in every draw.

Last night’s winner take the Lott’s division one winning tally to 133 so far this financial year, including 39 from NSW Lotteries.

The winning numbers in Monday Lotto draw 3603 on Monday 24 October 2016 were 3, 23, 13, 8, 19 and 43 with the supplementary numbers of 16 and 28.
