$70 MILLION Powerball prize strikes the Sunshine State!

Thursday 7 January 2016 - The sun will be shining very brightly for the holder of the single-winning Powerball entry purchased in the sunny state of Queensland, who has won the entire mind-blowing $70 million Powerball jackpot tonight!

The division one winning Powerball entry was registered to a player’s card however Tatts Lotteries was unable to get in contact with the winner following tonight’s draw to break the life-changing news to them!

Queensland hopefuls should wait by their phone as Tatts Lotteries will continue to attempt to get in touch with the registered winner on Friday.

Customers who purchased a registered Powerball entry in Queensland are encouraged to check their tickets as soon as possible to discover whether they are the country’s largest Powerball multi-millionaire!

Tatts Lotteries spokesperson Elissa Lewis said tonight’s $70 million Powerball jackpot was record-breaking, being the largest win on a single ticket in Powerball history!

“The standing record for the largest Powerball win claimed by a single entry in Australia was set in 2008 when one ticket purchased in Melbourne won $58.7 million in Powerball draw 629,” Ms Lewis explained.

“It has also equalled the largest lotto win ever by a single ticket which was set in December 2013 when a ticket purchased on the Gold Coast won $70 million in Oz Lotto.”

Along with the huge jackpot prize more than 1.3 million prizes were won across Australia in divisions two to eight, sharing in a total prize pool of $29.2 million.

The winning numbers in Powerball’s $70 million draw 1025 on Thursday 7 January 2016 were 18, 23, 34, 14, 4 and 20. The Powerball number was 18. Powerball will offer a $3 million division one prize in next week’s draw.
