A New South Wales player has two million extra reasons to celebrate 2016 after the ticket they purchased from Tweed City News in Tweed City Shopping Centre won a first division prize in Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw.

The winner, who wishes to remain completely anonymous, has come forward to claim their first division and other divisional prizes totalling $2,024,170.40 in the weekend’s Megadraw.

The division one winning entry was purchased at Tweed City News and co-owner Alistair Liddemore was overjoyed to discover one of his customers had won $2 million.

“What a brilliant way to kick off the New Year!” Mr Liddemore exclaimed.

“We’re celebrating too because it had been a while since we sold the last division one winning entry so we felt we were long overdue for another first division win!

“There’s been such a buzz in our store with so many of our customers congratulating us on selling that division one winning ticket!

“We’re now hoping that we can have two bites of the cherry and sell a first division winning ticket in Thursday’s $70 million Powerball draw!”
