Victoria scoops $10 million in Megadraw division one prizes!

Monday 4 January 2016 - Victoria has won the lion’s share of division one prizes in the weekend’s TattsLotto $30 Million Megadraw with five entries each scoring a division one share worth $2 million!

One of the division one winning entries was shared by a 36-member group syndicate set up by a Tatts outlet in the northern Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows.

The other four multi-million dollar winning entries were purchased from Melbourne’s eastern suburb of Wantirna, Melbourne’s south-western suburb of Hoppers Crossing, the Mornington Peninsula’s Rosebud West and one entry was purchased online.

Second syndicate success for Broadmeadows!

The New Year is looking extra bright for a 36-member group syndicate in northern Melbourne after their shared entry won a division one prize worth $2 million in TattsLotto’s $30 Million Megadraw!

In addition to the first division win, the syndicate also won other divisional prizes with their System 17 marked entry, making the total prize worth $2,294,580.80 or $63,738.36 per share.

Hasan Chandrakirana is the owner of Broadmeadows Lucky Lotto and said this is the second time his store had set up a division one winning group syndicate.

“Even though this isn’t the first time we’ve experienced what it’s like to set up a division one winning syndicate, it’s still a beautiful feeling!” Mr Chandrakirana exclaimed.

“In the $22 Million Superdraw in June 2014 we set up the same syndicate offer, a 3-game System 17 marked entry with 36-members, which won $1.4 million in total divisional prizes with each syndicate share winning more than $40,000.

“Now we’ve done it again in the $30 Million Megadraw on the weekend – it’s fantastic!

“The phone has been ringing off the hook all morning with other stores calling to congratulate us.

“We’ve owned the business since June 2013 and within that time we’ve sold three division one winning entries so I think we’re on a roll!”

Earlier in May 2014, the outlet also sold a $1.1 million winning ticket to a retired woman in the $21 Million Superdraw.

The winning group syndicate was set up by Broadmeadows Lucky Lotto, Shop K16 in the Broadmeadows Town Centre at 1099 - 1169 Pascoe Vale Road in Broadmeadows.

Shares in the 36-member group syndicate operated by Broadmeadows Lucky Lotto in Broadmeadows were also purchased from Croydon Central News & Lotto in Croydon, Wanda Street Lotto in Mulgrave, Northland Lotto in Preston, Stud Park Lotto in Rowville, Footscray Lotto in Footscray, Plenty Luck News & Lotto in South Preston, Prahran Market Lotto, Tobacco & News in Prahran, Warringal Lotto in Heidelberg, 1 Lucky Lotto Epping Plaza in Epping, Moonee Ponds Central Newsagency in Moonee Ponds, Wellington Village Lotto in Rowville, Sunshine Lucky Lotto in Sunshine, Sunbury Square Lotto in Sunbury, Highlands News & Lotto in Craigieburn, Oakleigh Central Lotto in Oakleigh and Wheelers Hill Newsagency in Wheelers Hill.

Wantirna man’s win wakes the household!

A man from Wantirna was watching TV when he saw the TattsLotto $30 Million Megadraw results on the news and recognised his favourite six numbers.

“As I checked the draw results, I thought to myself ‘Geez wait a minute, I’ve got all those numbers!’” he exclaimed.

“Needless to say I woke up everyone in the house! I don’t think anyone slept all night, and we’re still over-the-moon about it today!

“It’s such a good way to start the New Year and it will definitely top it all off!

“I couldn’t be happier with a $2 million share! It’s just sensational! I mean if you’re going to win division one, the Megadraw is the one to win it in!

“My wife and I haven’t had the chance to do much travelling overseas so we’d love to use some of this windfall to see more of the world.”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased a System 8 marked entry which won division one and other divisional prizes totalling $2,015,570.60 from Manfre’s Hairdressing at Shop 11, Wantirna Mall Shopping Centre on Mountain Highway in Wantirna.

Joe Manfre is the owner of Manfre’s Hairdressing and said he was thrilled to discover that one of his customers was more than $2 million richer.

“We’ve all been beside ourselves with the wonderful news that we sold a division one winning ticket in the Megadraw!” Mr Manfre exclaimed.

“The whole team is excited for our customer and we wish them the happiest New Year as they kick off 2016 as a multi-millionaire!

“We were definitely due for a division one win so fingers crossed that it won’t be long until we sell our next first division ticket, maybe even in the $70 Million Powerball draw this Thursday!”

Check your tickets in Hoppers Crossing and Rosebud West!

Two of the division one winning tickets in the weekend’s TattsLotto $30 Million Megadraw were not registered to a Tatts Card, so Tatts has no way of contacting them to let them in on the news that they’re multi-millionaires!

One of the mystery winners purchased their TattsLotto entry from Melbourne’s south-western suburb of Hoppers Crossing from Target Lotto, Shop 7, 24-48 Old Geelong Road in Hoppers Crossing.

The second unregistered winning TattsLotto ticket was purchased from the seaside town of Rosebud West from West Rosebud Newsagency, 1643 Point Nepean Road in Rosebud West.

Brian Potton is the owner of West Rosebud Newsagency and said that the store had been buzzing since they discovered they’d sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto $30 Million Megadraw.

“All my staff are wanting to know which one of us sold the winning ticket! We want to know who has the lucky touch so that we can do it again!” Mr Potton laughed.

“It’s certainly an uplifting experience knowing that the windfall will make a big difference to one of our customers that’s for sure!

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning entry in TattsLotto and we’re thrilled!

“We did sell a $6 million division one winning entry in Powerball in 2011 so it’s wonderful to know we’ve helped make a couple of multi-millionaires in our time!”

Tatts spokesperson Claire Taylor said because the winners have not come forward yet, it is quite possible they’re busy celebrating the holiday season and could be completely unaware that they’ve won division one!

“The winners may be too busy enjoying their break to check their winning entries but just imagine what they could do in 2016 with $2 million each,” Ms Taylor said.

“We’re encouraging customers who purchased an unregistered TattsLotto entry in the $30 Million Megadraw on the weekend in Hoppers Crossing and Rosebud West to check their ticket as soon as possible either at a Tatts outlet or online.

“Anyone who believes they are holding one of the winning entries should keep it in a safe place and contact Tatts immediately to start the prize claim process.”

TattsLotto player wins $2 million!
