Life-changing division one win for Central Queensland couple!

Monday 11 January 2016 - While most people have pulled down the decorations and packed up the Christmas tree, a Boyne Island couple discovered they had one more unexpected festive surprise waiting for them.

For almost two weeks the registered winners were unaware they’d won a first division prize in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw on Boxing Day until a Golden Casket official was finally able to speak with them and deliver the incredible news that they were kicking off the new year more than $445,000 richer!

“What! Are you kidding me?” the winning husband screamed.

“I’ve gone numb and now I’m shaking like a leaf! Wow – the most I’ve ever won is about $500. I thought you were going to tell me that I’d won $1,000 but this is so much more than that!

“This is a life-changing amount of money for us. I’m getting close to retirement so now I’ll be able to bring that forward and retire a little earlier than planned.

“I don’t know what we’ll do with our windfall but we will do something special for us!”

The division one winning ticket was purchased from Boyne Island Newsagency, Shop 3 in Boyne Island Plaza, Centenary Drive, Boyne Island.

Throughout Australia, there were nine entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 26 December 2015, each worth $445,935.26. In addition to the division one winning entry from Boyne Island, there were another two division one winning tickets sold in Queensland, four were from Victoria and one each in New South Wales and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3593 on Saturday 26 December 2015 were 36, 5, 35, 9, 25 and 34 with the supplementary numbers of 42 and 29.
