Gold Coast holidayer wins $1 million in Gold Lotto!

Monday 21 September - A man who was holidaying with his family at the Gold Coast, came home with more than a holiday glow when his unregistered entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw won a first division prize worth more than $1 million!

The North Queensland man, who wishes to remain anonymous, realised he’d become a millionaire whilst still on holiday at Broadbeach.

“With the windfall I’ll finally be able to build the home that we had the plans drawn up for awhile ago!” he exclaimed.

“So that will make my wife very happy! She puts up with a lot so she deserves it,” he laughed.

The happy winner purchased his System 8 QuickPick entry from Broadbeach Oasis News, Shop G35 Oasis Shopping Centre on the ground floor, at Victoria Avenue, Broadbeach.

Mathew Jacobson is the owner of Broadbeach Oasis News and said the staff in his outlet were all thrilled to have had another division one win.

“We are well and truly ecstatic for our division one winner and wish them all the best for their new chapter as a millionaire!” Mr Jacobson said.

“You know good things tend to happen in threes and we’ve had a great run of luck lately - last week we won the Retail Newsagent of the year in the Australian Newsgents’ Federation Queensland Awards, and over the weekend we had not only a division one win but a division two win as well!

“We’ve owned the business now for five years and this is our second division one win since one of our lucky customers won $1,052,000 in division one Gold Lotto prize money in August 2013, so now we’re looking forward to getting our division one hat trick!”

Throughout Australia, there were four entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 19 September, each worth $1,049,345.75. Along with the winning entry purchased in Queensland, there was one winning ticket from Victoria and two in Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3565 on Saturday 19 September 2015 were 44, 32, 4, 16, 5 and 29 with the supplementary numbers of 37 and 19.
