The ultimate Father's Day gift - a $15 million Powerball win!

Monday 14 September 2015 - A daughter and son from Melbourne bought their father a Powerball entry as part of a Tatts gift pack for Father’s Day but they never expected their present would make their dad Australia’s newest multi-millionaire!

The 12-game QuickPick entry scooped the entire Powerball jackpot of $15 million in draw 1008 on Thursday 10 September.

The happy daughter spoke to a Tatts Official this morning about the family’s mind-boggling news.

“You just can’t get your head around $15 million! We’re so estatic!” the woman said.

“Dad knew on Friday afternoon that his ticket had won Powerball so he had quite the weekend! As soon as he realised, he went to the pub and shouted the bar!

“We’re very happy for him because he’s had a hard life. Now he’s set to buy himself a new car, a house and some holiday homes!

“He’s also helping with our mortgages – it’ll be an amazing gift to be able to pay that off!”

The winner and his family have chosen to remain anonymous.

The winning entry was purchased from Melbourne’s beachside suburb of Sandringham from Sandringham Authorised Newsagency at 58 - 60 Station Street in Sandringham.

It was the only winning entry in Powerball draw 1008 on Thursday 10 September. The winning numbers were 15, 24, 38, 29, 11 and 12 and the Powerball number was 15.

Powerball will offer a $3 million division one prize in Thursday’s draw.

There are still more chances to join the Tatts millionaires club this week with Oz Lotto jackpotting to $5 million in tomorrow’s draw. You can grab an entry at any Tatts Outlet or online via
