'Method of Victory' Roar Extra Time

The Brisbane Roar will fancy their chances in Adelaide despite the final being played at the Adelaide Oval rather than Coopers Stadium. The Reds are winless in eight home matches against the Roar, losing the last six in row. Bragging rights are with Brisbane this season winning two of their three matches, and confidence is high heading into their fifth straight play-off series and losing only three of sixteen appearances at the business end. Adelaide welcome back Marcelo Carrusca from injury. With an unmatched finals record, and with the likes of Broich, Brattan, Borrello, Kaluderovic, Solorzano and McKay returning to the squad, I feel Roar’s price is wonderful value in the ‘H2H’ and ‘Draw No Bet’ markets with UBET. This game has extra-time thriller written all over it, but I favour the Roar to sneak home in another nail-biting final.

H/F Double Draw/Phoenix

I found it difficult to run a form line across this match at the ‘Cake Tin’. Melbourne City have been victorious in only one of their past eleven against the Phoenix and were comprehensively beaten 5-1 when the two sides met in Round 8 courtesy of a Nathan Burns hat-trick. The Nix’s record at home of late is a big concern for coach Ernie Merrick and Sunday’s game will see them play in their first play-off series since 2012. Coincidently, the City/Heart franchises only other appearance in finals was in 2012 when they lost 3-0 to Glory. City need to reverse their poor run of not scoring more than one goal in their past six, if they are any hope of realising a Grand Final dream. I feel if the Phoenix plays at the same intensity in attack when they were challenging for top spot, a win is assured in front of their loyal and passionate fans. Melbourne City will be determined to spoil the party, especially if Josh Kennedy can climb above the defence and head home a winner.
