Mark Winterbottom  has been well-supported in Race 1 of the Winton SuperSprint after he won the opening two races in Perth last round, with supporters prepared to forgive his 15th on the final day at Barbagallo. Frosty is currently third in the championship behind Craig Lowndes and James Courtney .

Still looking for his 100th race victory in this form of motorsport, Lowndes is coming off a productive trip west. The veteran was the most consistent driver finishing third, fifth and second to grab up a handy 257 points (47 more than Winterbottom) to jump to the top spot, 52 points clear of Courtney.

As always, Jamie Whincup has his band of loyal supporters despite plenty of  woes in the west. Sandwiched between a disappointing 15th and 19th, Whincup managed a second placing in Race 2. But the weekend yielded just 147 championship points and he fell back to 5th overall. And the reigning champion hasn't been on the podium at Winton in the last two years.

Six different drivers have taken the chequered flag in the first nine races so far this season, with Whincup, Lowndsie and Frosty the only repeat winners. And Red Bull Racing have struggled at this circuit in the last two years (Whincup; DNF, DNF, 13th, 9th, 19th & 10th and Lowndes; 21st, 12th, 10th, 8th, 16th & 7th).

And be warned, you don't want your favourite driver to qualify fifth or seventh on the grid at Winton! These are the only two positions in the top 10 that have never produced a race winner at the circuit in ATCC/V8SC history.
