The $175,000 Caloundra Cup is the highlight on a big day of racing at the Sunshine Coast this Saturday. The eight race card features four Listed Races and a Group 3.

And following Gai Waterhouse's success with Pornichet in last week's Doomben Cup, another leading Sydney trainer, Chris Waller, is eyeing off the main event at Corbould Park.

Waller saddles up topweight Index Linked (59kg) , which is the only horse rated above 100 in the Cup. The seven-year-old is coming off a good second to Epingle in the Group 3 Chairman's Handicap at the Gold Coast three weeks ago. The winner of 10 of his 30 starts and $571,146 in prize money has champion local hoop Damien Browne aboard. The only real downside, the son of  Dansili is having his 10th run this campaign, which stretches back to December 20.

Fellow interstate raiders Tremec and Sir John Hawkwood look the obvious dangers, while the consistent Volkhere , who finished second to Pornichet in the Toowoomba, appears the best of the locals.

Waterhouse's colt Skylimit and Waller's filly Winx are hardest to beat in the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m), while Allan Denham's Mount Nebo is a strong contender in the Listed Glasshouse Handicap, even though he's a query at 1300m.
