A veteran of just three career starts, Peter Moody's filly Pasadena Girl  is a leading hope in the final leg of Sydney's Juvenile Triple Crown, the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

With the winners of the first two legs (Vancuover in the Golden Slipper and Pride Of Dubai in the ATC Sires' Produce) already spelling, a third two-year-old will enjoy Group 1 glory on Saturday.

After two impressive wins at Flemington, the man famous for taking Black Caviar to meet the Queen brought the daughter of Savabeel north for the Sires. With Vlad Duric in the saddle, Pasadena Girl settled at the rear before pulling wide and finishingly strongly for fourth, 1.4 lengths from the winner. She's Moody's second runner in this $400,000 feature.

Pasadena Girl (2yo filly, 54.5kg)

Trainer: Peter Moody

Jockey: Hugh Bowman

Record: 3: 2-0-0

Stakes: $213,500

Barrier: 4

Fixed Price:

Pasadena Girl's effort in the 1400m Sires suggested the mile would be perfect, but in a small field, new jockey Hugh Bowman will have to be mindful of the pace (or lack of it) and timing her run.

Rodney Northam's consistent colt Odyssey Moon , who finished 2nd in the Sires (more than a half-length ahead of Pasadena Girl), is a definite danger. The son of Snitzel previously placed in the Skyline and Pago Pago, before a creditable performance in the Slipper, where he finished 8th beaten 2.2 lengths at $91.

Another filly Mine Two can run a cheeky race at long odds.

And for those who like to back horses with interesting names. The Barrister could be handy if there's an objection because Rhode Assassin  tried to Takedown Reckless Russell whilst listening to Street Rapper ! (all puns clearly intended).
