$3 million Powerball prize won in Ermington!

Friday 17 April 2015 - A Sydney man in his forties has a reason to celebrate today after discovering his Powerball entry in last night’s draw scored a division one share worth $3 million.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, admitted to being a little nervous when a NSW Lotteries official contacted him this morning.

“Okay you’re freaking me out at the moment,” the winner initially said.

“I’ve won Powerball! You’re kidding me! I wasn’t even sure if I was going to answer the phone when you called. I’m so glad I did now!

“We’ve been doing it tough for so long because we’ve always put our kids first. This is just amazing!

“I’m not too sure what we’ll do with our Powerball windfall but if we’re sensible, this prize money can change our lives.”

The winning 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased from Ermington Newsagency, 2 Betty Cuthbert Avenue in Ermington.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 987 on 16 April 2015 were 29, 18, 6, 27, 8 and 25. The Powerball number was 2.
