Western Sydney family claims $15 million Powerball prize!

Friday 6 March 2015 - A Western Sydney family were shocked to discovered they’d been multi-millionaires for one week and didn’t even know it after winning a staggering $15 million in last week’s Powerball draw!

The flabbergasted husband, who wishes to remain anonymous, only checked the winning entry late yesterday afternoon and contacted NSW Lotteries immediately for confirmation that he’d scooped the entire division one prize pool of $15,260,074.71.

“That’s a lot of money!” the stunned winner managed to utter after a long silence.

“All I can say is it feels very strange. It definitely hasn’t sunk in yet!”

“I can’t wait to tell my wife. I don’t think she’ll believe me!” the new multi-millionaire laughed.

“We’ll have to sit down and have a good hard think about what we’ll do with the prize money, but we’ll definitely start by paying off our mortgage, the car and the credit cards.”

The unregistered winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased from Lennox Newsagency, Shops 18 & 19, 219 – 249 Great Western Highway in Emu Plains.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 980 on 26 February 2015 were 19, 22, 36, 5, 18 and 8. The Powerball number was 9.
