As we head into just the second Formula 1 race of the season, many people are already asking "who will beat the Mercs?" This follows a dominant performance by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg , who produced a one-two finish in the season opener at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

The two were clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the field. While Hamilton finished just 1.36 seconds ahead of his team mate, there was daylight back to third. Now in a Ferrari, Sebastien Vettel did a good job to make the podium, but the four-time world champion was more than 34 seconds from the winner. Philipe Massa was fourth and Philipe Nasr fifth. The remaining starters, including Aussie Daniel Ricciardo , weren't in the same post code and were either lapped by the 'brilliant Benzs' or did not finish.

So dominant were Hamilton and Rosberg, TattsBet has opened a market on whether or not Mercedes will go through the season undefeated. From what we saw in testing and at Albert Park , the Mercs appear to have a major advantage over their rivals, and many experts are tipping the 2015 season will become 'boring'. For those who think either Hamilton or Rosberg will win every race this year, Mercedes is  to go through the season undefeated. Including this weekend, there are 18 events to go following the cancellation of the German GP due to financial issues.

The only two drivers under double figure odds for the Malaysian GP are Hamilton and Rosberg, with Vettel next best. Though he picked up valuable points in his home GP, Ricciardo is sixth in the TattsBet market.

The top three in betting finished in that exact order at Sepang last year, and it won’t shock anybody if the same thing happens again this week.

Rosberg was a brilliant foil for Hamilton around Albert Park a fortnight ago. With a finely tuned Mercedes, he chased home his team mate to finish runner-up and earn 18 championship points. He was more than 30 seconds ahead of Vettel in third.
