After Sunday’s rain soaked 73-minute abandonment, the Roar host Western Sydney Wanderers in a rescheduled round 11 match.  The Wanderers are searching for their third win of the season and avoiding the wooden spoon will be the main target in their domestic aspirations this season. The Roar squad has been decimated by injury and international commitments, and the outlook doesn’t get any easier with a quick turnaround required to take on Melbourne City away on Saturday night.

WSW haven’t beaten the Roar since April 2013 in the playoffs, failing to win any of their last six matches against them (D2 L4). Despite the weight of the stats, I think they’re well over the odds to cause an upset - as was evidenced by the Phoenix notching their maiden win at Suncorp Stadium. The Roar conceded only 25 goals last season and are already at 31 with seven games remaining.  A loss here could jeopardise any hopes they have of a late run for the top six and a finals berth.
