#NRLBulldogsTigers
‘What went wrong?’ was the question that echoed around Leichhardt last week after the Tigers surrendered a 22-point lead to lose to Canberra. Jason Taylor will be livid with that result, and I know he’ll have his boys switched on against the Bulldogs. Expect James Tedesco to continue his rich vein of form and steer Wests to an upset win.
#NRLWarriorsTitans
The Titans have put off-field dramas behind them over the last few weeks, notching back-to-back wins over the Eels and Panthers. Captain Nate Myles returns from injury for the visitors, but that shouldn’t stop the Warriors claiming victory. They always lift at Mt Smart Stadium, and the ANZAC Day occasion will give them an extra spring in their step.
#NRLKnightsCowboys
This match is a real head-scratcher and one that could go either way. The Knights were poor last week and will be hungry to bounce back, however the class of Jonathan Thurston is proving too much for teams to handle. They may have stumbled out of the blocks, but the North Queenslanders have well and truly found their feet, and I sense a fifth straight win for the Cowboys is coming.
#NRLRoostersDragons
A four-game losing streak looms for the Roosters on ANZAC Day, and they’ll need to be back to their best to deny a red-hot Dragons side. Sydney have lost workhorse Jarred Waerea-Hargreaves, but the returning Sam Moa is a more than handy compensation at prop. Defence has been key to St George’s recent success, but the Roosters have enough backline firepower to come out on top.
#NRLStormManly
The rivalry between these sides is one of the most enthralling in the league, and we’re set for another belter of a match on Saturday. Captain Jamie Lyon will be a noticeable absentee for the visitors, however Keiran Foran returns to bolster their halves. The Sea-Eagles edged the Storm 24-22 back in Round 2, but beating Melbourne in Melbourne is a massive task.
#NRLBroncosEels
The ANZAC Day NRL marathon ends at Suncorp Stadium with the Broncos playing hosts to the Eels. The match-up between Ben Hunt and Chris Sandow is worth the admission price alone, with both players capable of producing match-winning plays. The Eels thrive up north, having won three of their past four visits to Brisbane, but the strength of Corey Parker and Sam Thaiday should get the hosts over the line.
#NRLPanthersSharks
Josh Mansour is the latest addition to Penrith’s extensive injury list, and they face a tough task to see off the in-from Sharks on Sunday. Cronulla overcame treacherous conditions to record a third consecutive win at the expense the Rabbitohs. Michael Ennis was inspirational in that match, and with Paul Gallen returning for the Sharks, they've got my tip in a close one.
#NRLRabbitohsRaiders
Souths badly need to get out of this hole they find themselves in, and a trip to Cairns could be exactly what they need to do so. Don’t let back-to-back defeats fool you; the Rabbitohs are still premiership winning material, they just need their big guns to fire again. Souths have won six out of their past seven matches against Canberra, and the bounce-back factor should kick in here.
