A win could prove to be decisive for QPR as they travel to Crystal Palace in Saturday night’s (AEST) early EPL match.

While Crystal Palace seem to be safe from relegation this year, the same can’t be said for QPR. The Hoops have had a tumultuous season thus far, however they’re well and truly in the mix to save themselves from relegation. Although they currently sit in the bottom three, a win on Saturday would be enough to lift them back into the safety zone. Manager Chris Ramsey has watched his side lose their past three straight matches, all by the same 2-1 score line. In their 11 matches since Christmas, Rangers have managed just one victory; a 2-0 win against Sunderland. Despite there being plenty of time to execute an escape plan, if they don’t start stringing wins together in the next few weeks, they may as well start planning for life back in the Championship.

Crystal Palace enter this match firmly fixed in mid-table, and new manager Alan Pardew will be urging his men to aim for a top ten finish. The Eagles have lost just two of their eight matches since the former Newcastle United coach took over, and they’ll be confident of extending their mid-season resurgence this weekend. Pardew will have some tough calls to make regarding team selection for this match, with Frazier Campbell and Mile Jedinak set for stints on the sidelines. Jedinak is especially a big blow for the hosts after the club captain was hit with a three-match ban for violent conduct in his side’s recent win over West Ham.

Nothing could split these two sides when they met earlier in the season, and Saturday’s clash is shaping up to be another close encounter. QPR will be more desperate for the three points, however Palace have the luxury of playing at Selhurst Park.
