A big weekend of football wraps up on Monday morning (AEST) with the English League Cup Final between Chelsea and Tottenham .

Having not won a top tier domestic title for 54 years, Tottenham have struggled to crack it in the league. Their record in the English League Cup, however, is quite the opposite. With four winners’ trophies and a trio of runners-up medals to their name, Tottenham remain the fourth most successful club in the tournament’s history. Coincidentally, their last League Cup Final triumph was against Chelsea in 2008, when a Jonathon Woodgate goal sealed victory in extra time. An impressive debut season from Harry Kane has made him the club’s latest fan favourite, and Spurs will look to him for inspiration in attack. The 21-year-old has scored a phenomenal 24 goals in 38 appearances this season, including a brace against Chelsea when they met in December.

The Blues have been in cruise control for a majority of this season, but the only team to give Chelsea a real shake up has been their fierce London opponents. Spurs put them to the sword in their most recent meeting, recording a humiliating 5-3 win just before Christmas. Jose Mourinho was less than impressed following that match, as he was last weekend after a 1-1 draw with relegation candidates Burnley. Still, Chelsea have been clearly the best team in England this campaign, and they’ll be confident of securing their first piece of silverware come Monday. With a number of crucial domestic and European ties ahead of them, Mourinho may opt to play a second-string side, however given the incredible depth of their squad, that shouldn’t hinder their chances.

Chelsea dominate betting in the head-to-head market, however it’s the over/under market that is attracting TattsBet customers. The seven matches between these sides leading up to Monday’s clash have yielded an average of 4.7 goals, making the over 2.5 goals option popular among punters.
