Rory McIlroy headlines a host of world-class players contesting the Honda Classic in Florida this weekend.

The World No.1 continues to go from strength to strength in 2015. Last year, McIlroy won three PGA tournaments, including two majors (the Open Championship and the PGA Championship), as well as finishing in the top five on six occasions. This year, he has started right where he left off, missing out on the HSBC Golf Championship by one shot and securing his first victory of the year at the Dubai Desert Classic.  His performance in Dubai was nothing short of outstanding, with the Northern Irishman winning by three shots.

Given his recent form, it’s hard to see anyone really challenging McIlroy. But Americans Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley  have both enjoyed promising starts to the year. Johnson is coming off a spectacular performance at Northern Trust Open a week ago, where he finished second in a thrilling playoff round to fellow American James Hahn. While Bradley improved dramatically in his fifth tournament of the year after a poor showing at the Farmers Insurance Open in two weeks ago, finishing fourth in California.

World No.8 Justin Rose will also tee off on Friday morning (AEST), but after finishing 12th and 13th in his first two tournaments, and then failing to even make the cut in at the Northern Trust. On that form, he might just be white noise come Saturday.

At this tournament last year, McIlroy began to really hit his stride, finishing second after a four-way playoff. But he will take great confidence after his victory three weeks ago and is sure to finish with a Round One Low Score .
