ACT's 2015 Lotto Hotspots revealed!

Wednesday 16 December 2015 - It’s that time of the year when NSW Lotteries makes its own list and checks it twice to find out where all the division one lotto wins have been won in the ACT in the past twelve months!

Between 1 December 2014 and 30 November 2015, a total of nine players in the ACT discovered what it’s like to win division one, equating to a staggering $89.9 million in division one prize money won across all lotto games!

The latest statistics released by NSW Lotteries (see tables below) revealed that the coveted title of ‘2015 NSW Lotteries’ Lotto Hotspot in ACT’ was postcode 2912 for Gungahlin where the most number of division one winning tickets were sold in 2015 with a two wins totalling $51 million in first division prize money.

The biggest lotto prize in ACT in the twelve months to 1 December 2015 was the whopping $50 million Powerball prize won in May in Gungahlin, followed by the massive $30 million Oz Lotto prize won in mid-December last year with a ticket purchased in Woden.

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Belinda McDougall said while it’s great to crunch the numbers and see where the division one wins were won in 2015, it doesn’t mean a ticket purchased in those suburbs has a greater chance of winning than any other ticket.

“While some people are superstitious in deciding where they will purchase their entries from, it is important for players to remember that lotto is a random game of chance,” Ms McDougall explained.

“Regardless of where a ticket is purchased, every number on every ticket has an equal chance of being drawn.”

The highly anticipated release of the 2015 Hotspot statistics comes as the countdown begins to Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw on 2 January 2016! Imagine what you could include on your New Year’s Resolution List if you won a share of $30 million!

NSW Lotteries is expecting a lot of interest in Saturday Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, so customers are advised to get in early and purchase their entry for the chance to start 2016 with a bang and a share in the massive $30 million division one prize pool.

NSW Lotteries customers are encouraged to register their entries to a Players Club card. Not only does registration ensure their prize is secure, it also ensures they can be contacted directly with news of a division one win.
