Tassie gets its twelfth division one TattsLotto winner for Christmas!

Monday 14 December 2015 - A retired man from the southern suburbs of Launceston is planning to have a very merry Christmas this year, after discovering that his entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw scored him a division one prize worth more than $785,000!

The overjoyed man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he checked his numbers online on Saturday night and couldn’t believe it when he discovered he’d won division one in TattsLotto.

“I was so excited I organised a gathering for my family to break the news to them the following day. It was pretty funny when I told my family I’d won TattsLotto because they kept saying things like ‘Are you sure? Have you verified it? Where’s the ticket?’” he laughed.

“The news hasn’t really sunk in yet for me, it’s going to take some getting used to! But I’ll have plenty of time over the Christmas and New Years’ break to think about what I’ll do.

“I think I’ll clear my loans, and fast-track some little things around the house that I’ve been planning to do for some time. I would also like to take a holiday to the USA!”

The man purchased his System 9 marked entry which won division one and additional divisional prizes totalling $804,915.52 from Meadow Mews News & Lotto, Shop 16, Meadow Mews at 102 – 106 Hobart Road in Kings Meadows.

Jeff Dolbey is the owner of Meadow Mews News & Lotto and said it was excellent to have sold another division one winning entry.

“We’ve been at this new location now for about a year and we sold a division one winning entry just before we moved, so our luck has followed us here to Kings Meadows,” Mr Dolbey said.

“Goodness me, it’s excellent news to have sold another division one winning ticket – it’s topped off our year!

“The winner will certainly have a very merry Christmas and we wish them all the best with their windfall in the New Year.”

Throughout Australia, there were five entries that won a first division share of TattsLotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 12 December, each worth $785,673.82. In addition to the division one winning entry from Tasmania, there were two winning entries sold in Queensland, and one each in South Australia and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto’s draw 3589 on Saturday 12 December were 6, 11, 8, 7, 40 and 31. The supplementary numbers were 22 and 30.

There are more chances to win big this week with a massive $25 million up for grabs in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw and Powerball has also jackpotted to $25 million for Thursday. Tickets are available from all Tatts outlets or online via Tatts.com.
