Charitable man from Clare wins division one in Saturday X Lotto!

Monday 14 December 2015 - A retired man from the town of Clare was blown away when he received the news on Monday morning that his Saturday X Lotto entry had scored him a division one share worth more than $785,000!

The happy man, who spends his time doing charitable work, was shocked but over-the-moon when an SA Lotteries official phoned him with the dream-come-true news that he had won first division.

“You’re kidding! You wouldn’t be pulling my leg would you kiddo?” the winning man asked.

“So you’re telling me I’ve won more than three-quarters-of-a-million dollars? That’s beeeeeautiful! I’m so excited!

“You’ve made an old man’s day - I feel like I’m only 21 years old all of a sudden!

“I’m still trying to get used to the idea that I’ve won X Lotto but I think I’ll buy a new set of wheels and I can probably afford a holiday now!”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 4-game marked entry from Clare Newsagency, 263 Main North Road in Clare.

Brett Dinning and Tammy Watts are the owners of Clare Newsagency and were thrilled to have sold their second division one winning entry in the last two years.

“We just think it’s great to have another division one winner in Clare at such a great time of the year as well!” Mr Dinning exclaimed.

“Our last division one winning customer was a family man in his 40’s who won first division in Saturday X Lotto in August 2014.

“It’s wonderful to hear that it’s gone to a deserving local customer and we wish them all the best with their windfall.”

Throughout Australia, there were five entries that won a first division share of Saturday X Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 12 December, each worth $785,673.82. In addition to the division one winning entry from South Australia, there were two winning entries sold in Queensland, and one each in Tasmania and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto’s draw 3589 on Saturday 12 December were 6, 11, 8, 7, 40 and 31. The supplementary numbers were 22 and 30.
