Wynnum's new millionaire claims prize!

Thursday 8 October 2015 - A North Queensland Cowboys supporter has another reason to celebrate this week after discovering his unregistered entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw scored a first division prize worth more than $1 million!

The Brisbane man in his early 20s only realised he’d become one of the state’s newest millionaires after he checked his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket this afternoon.

“I’d read a Facebook post that said there was a first division winning ticket from Wynnum that was unclaimed so I decided to check my entry,” the stunned winner explained.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw that I had all the winning numbers. I yelled and began to jump around the room. I then raced out of my bedroom and got my family to check my ticket!

“I support the Cowboys so this win has just topped off what was already a great week for me!

“It still hasn’t sunk in! I’m just going to put my division one prize money in the bank, leave it and decide what I’ll do with it after Christmas!”

The division one winning ticket was purchased from newsXpress Wynnum, Shop 2, 126 Edith Street in Wynnum.

Throughout Australia, there were four entries that won a first division share of Saturday Gold Lotto’s estimated $4 million division one prize pool on Saturday 3 October, each worth $1,028,850.70. Apart from the division one winning entry from Queensland, there was one winning ticket from New South Wales and two were purchased in Victoria.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3569 on Saturday 3 October 2015 were 21, 3, 22, 7, 6 and 43 with the supplementary numbers of 39 and 14.
