Healesville man gets a $1 million TattsLotto 'cold' call!

Tuesday 6 October 2015 - A retired man from Healesville hadn’t made his usual visit to his local Tatts outlet to check his entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw because he’d caught a bad cold, so he was none-the-wiser that he’d won a share in first division worth more than $1 million!

On Tuesday morning the shocked winner received the dream-come-true phone call from a Tatts official who broke the news that he’d become a millionaire from his sick bed!

“Gee, it must be millions if you’re calling me this morning?” he quizzed the Tatts official.

“The only reason I hadn’t already checked my ticket this week is because I’ve had a nasty cold – so if this call is about what I think it is, this will be the best news I’ve had all week!”

The man was blown-away when he was informed that his 24-game QuickPick entry had won a division one share in TattsLotto worth $1,028,850.70!

“Oh shoot! I better put my finger in my mouth so I won’t say something awful!” he laughed.

“Wow, that’s just fabulous. I always told my wife that one day it would win me millions!

“I’ll share my prize money with my family and a couple of charities will get a bit too! Don’t worry; we’ll make good use of it!”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his ticket from Sanctuary Lotto, Shop T5, The Walk Centre at 235 – 263 Maroondah Highway in Healesville.

Karl Jones in the owner of Sanctuary Lotto and said that he was absolutely over-the-moon that the division one winner was a local customer.

“It’s only been ten months since we bought the outlet and we’ve been desperate to sell a big one and here it is – our first division one win!” Mr Jones exclaimed.

“Of course, we hope it’s the first of many to come for us!” he added.
