Cobden win causes quite a stir!

A man from the western district of Victoria was blown away when he received a call this morning from a Tatts Official to let him know he’d won division one on the weekend.

“I take it I’ve had a bit of a win then?” he quizzed the Tatts Official.

“Goodness gracious me! You’re worse than Tony Barber on Sale of the Century! $666,000 – I couldn’t even count to that!

“My legs have gone all tingly! I hope you’re not pulling my leg?

“You know I’m getting older by the minute so I’m making the most of everything, and although I will keep the same lifestyle, I know this windfall will make some people in my life very happy.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his registered 15-game marked entry from Cobden Authorised Newsagency, at 19A Curdie Street in Cobden.

Karen McConachy is the owner of Cobden Authorised Newsagency and said that locals were thrilled at the news of a win in the community.

“It’s very exciting for a town like Cobden! We’ve been running this newsagency for 10 years and this is our first ever division one win!” Mrs McConachy exclaimed.

“Selling a division one winning ticket is something I’ve always wanted to tick off my bucket list!”
