Longford's $1 million Lotto win is a 'miracle'!

Thursday 22 October 2015 - The Apple Isle has welcomed its seventh division one winner to the club so far this year – with the latest happy winner a mother from Longford, south of Launceston, who became a millionaire overnight!

The winning woman, who purchased an 18-game QuickPick entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto in last night’s draw, said she was over-the-moon but shocked to discover her ticket had won a first division prize of $1 million.

“I’m still shaking! I just keep staring at the ticket and thinking ‘wow, wow, wow!’” she exclaimed.

“I’ve always said don’t give up because if you stay strong that’s when miracles happen, and voila – here is mine!”

The happy winner wishes to remain anonymous.

Mitchell Talbot the owner of Longford Newsagency, at 26 Marlborough Street in Longford, where the million dollar winning ticket was sold said he was rapt that there had been a local winner.

“I’ve owned the business now for about 17 months and to have our first division one winner in such a short period of time is great news,” Mr Talbot said.

“It is welcome news for my newsagency and it’s a great boost for the local community too.

“We wish our division one winning customer all the best with their miracle one million dollar prize!”

Throughout Australia, it was the only entry that won a first division prize in Monday & Wednesday Lotto, which offers a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million for up to four winners in each draw.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3497 on Wednesday 21 October were 24, 3, 12, 16, 43 and 39 with the supplementary numbers of 8 and 7.

There are more chances to win big this week with $15 million up for grabs in tonight’s Powerball draw and Oz Lotto has jackpotted to $15 million for next Tuesday’s draw. Tickets are available at any Tatts outlet or online via Tatts.com.
